18 wheeler spilling unknown chemical in Alexandria, LA

HMN-Alexandria FD is on scene with an 18 wheeler currently leaking an unknown chemical. KALB reports that authorities are asking everyone to stay a minimum of 250 feet away at this time.

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) – An 18-wheeler had an accident on the traffic circle between Masonic Drive and North MacArthur spilling out a currently unknown chemical.

All traffic in the area is being directed down Metro Drive to connect with Prescott Road behind the Home Depot.

Businesses near the scene of the incident have been evacuated and Alexandria Police requests that everyone stay at least 250 feet away from the scene.

One driver was behind the truck when the chemicals splashed onto his car. He is currently having to wait for the truck’s company to arrive from Shreveport to access the situation before he can leave.
