3 State Police Officers being treated after chemical spill on I-25

HMN- Liquid Oxygen was spilled and multiple police officers were treated after responding to the spill on September 22, 2016. Video report from the incident from KOB.COM here.

State police say Interstate 25 traffic is now open in both directions after a previous closure.

Earlier Thursday, all lanes were closed in both directions on Interstate 25 North and South from Mile Post 252 (San Felipe) to Mile Post 257(Budaghers) due to a commercial motor vehicle leaking liquid oxygen.

State police say the leak was due to a safety valve on the vehicle. A hazmat crew cleaned and cleared the scene, rendering it safe.

State police say that three responding officers are being treated for inhalation of fumes during the spill.
