Toledo police confirm at least five officers were treated at a hazmat situation late Tuesday night in the 300 block of Delaware Avenue, according to WTVG, Channel 13.
A Toledo Fire and Rescue Department spokesman told 13abc at least five Toledo police officers were exposed to the substance. They were treated on scene, taken to an area hospital and are expected to be OK.
Authorities also say at least 10 other people were exposed to the substance, Channel 13 reported. They were being treated at the scene and taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
Investigators were not able to say what the substance is or whether Narcan was used in this instance. Delaware was closed between Fulton and Collingwood, and offficers are asking people to stay away from the area.
The Blade was unable to reach a Toledo police dispatcher to get more information Tuesday night.
The sergeant told the television station that the incident similar to what happened last Wednesday in 6100 block of Rolland Drive in Toledo, when two officers were treated with naloxone after being exposed to fentanyl while responding to an overdose call.
