According to the Star Press in Muncie Indiana:

A young Delaware County man early Monday apparently tried to take his own life by mixing household chemicals to create a potentially deadly gas.

Douglas Walker reported that two Gaston firefighters, wearing SCBA, removed the man from the trailer alive.  It is unknown his current condition.

According to Jason Rogers, executive director of emergency management for Delaware County,  the man “would have perished” had authorities not intervened.  He added,  “This is a little exotic for us,” the team being called to the scene of a would-be “detergent suicide.”
