(AP) – Authorities say hazmat crews were called to a Connecticut home to remove potentially hazardous materials found inside.
Police said Wednesday they donâ€™t think the chemistry lab found in the basement of the West Hartford home Tuesday night was being used to make drugs or explosives.
The homeowner says she called the fire department because a man living in her basement had poured some chemicals down a drain. Authorities were concerned that the chemicals could be potentially dangerous by how they were stored.
Crews from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection were at the scene to remove the chemicals from the home.
