Explosion injures 3 people in Massachusetts

HMN- Massachusetts officials responded to a self inflicted explosive situation. News NBC 10 has the story.



SOMERSET, Mass. (WJAR) — Fire officials in Somerset responded to Fitzgerald Road on Saturday night, after a reported explosion with multiple injuries.

NBC 10 has confirmed with Somerset Fire Department that a gas tank exploded injuring three people.

Officials say the adults who were injured poured gasoline into a fire pit, which lead to the explosion.

Though three people were injured, two of the adults refused medical treatment and the third was taken to a local hospital.

All burn injuries appeared to be non-life threatening, according to officials.

The scene was cleared just after 8 pm on Saturday.
