Explosive device shatters windows in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — A San Francisco man has been arrested for allegedly igniting an explosive device that shattered about 75 windows in the area of the city’s South Park neighborhood, police announced Monday.

Investigators said 37-year-old San Francisco resident Mustapha Math has been booked at San Francisco County Jail on charges of possession of a destructive device, possession of destructive materials, ignition of a destructive device and vandalism.

The explosion was reported at about 9:55 a.m. Sunday in the area of Second Street and Taber Place.

The Police Department’s bomb squad, Special Investigation Division and Crime Scene Investigation teams responded to the scene.

No injuries were reported and no arrest has been made in the case.
