On the early morning hours of January 6th, 2005 the lives of thousands would change forever. With hundreds hospitalized, thousands evacuated from their homes, 9 people died as a result of the accident.
There have been many learning lessons since the disaster from better understanding the incident management system, to resource ordering, accountability and initial response considerations. With these things in mind, many written documents and guides have been produced to aid agencies in better addressing issues that arose that tragic day.
