Welcome Fellow Hazmatters to the Hazmat Buzz Blog on hazmatnation.com. This is the first of many entries I hope to make discussing everything hazmat. I want to start by explaining where the name for the blog came from. The blog is named in honor of Retired Baltimore City FD Battalion Chief Buzzy Melton. Chief Melton was thoroughly dedicated to hazmat response in the BCFD. He was also a chemist and worked for the FMC Corporation before the Baltimore location closed. I am sure many in the region can remember Buzzy and what he meant to hazmat response. He was ahead of his time and understood risk based response before it was a BUZZword in fire service circles. Chief Buzzy, this blog’s for you!!!!
