ARLINGTON
An apparent suicide by cyanide sparked a large emergency response to the intersection of Rockmont Road and Richfield Road near Arlington High School in Arlington’s Morningside Heights neighborhood.
Around 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, Arlington police and fire crews responded to the scene, declaring it a hazardous materials incident.
Arlington police spokesperson Capt. Richard Flynn confirmed that a suicide caused the hazmat response.
Roads were blocked off in the area during the response and helicopters from several television news channels circled overhead.
