Industrial company to decon USPS facility after HAZMAT incident

HMN-An industrial company is expected to decontaminate a USPS facility after a HAZMAT incident leaves some with rashes.  The exact source of the incident is undetermined at this time.  (CBS 6)

The USPS Albany Processing and Distribution Center on Old Karner Road in Colonie will remain closed Sunday following a hazmat situation.

The Albany County Fire Coordinator says three employees developed rash-like symptoms and were taken to the hospital and released. Multiple crews and agencies worked to secure the scene. They searched for six hours to determine what substance may have caused the rash. However, they say that is still undetermined.

Officials say they do not believe there is any health issue. They are turning the situation over to the USPS.

An industrial cleaning company is expected to clean the facility.
