According to CBS News:
WEXFORD (KDKA) — The daughter of the couple who owns a house in Wexford said she couldn’t believe what her brother was allegedly doing in the basement.
She called police Friday warning them about a possible meth lab in the home on Cresswyck Court. Northern Regional Police, County emergency services and state police arrived and ordered everyone out of the house.
“When they went in and checked the house there was no meth being manufactured but all the precursors were there to manufacture meth,†said Chief Bob Ammons.
Authorities suspect the dangerous meth-making materials were brought in by the 34-year-old son who lives at the home with his parents. Police say he disappeared after his father took him to the hospital.
“Family members saw him this morning with burns on his face. His father took him down to Allegheny General to be treated. When they arrived he took off running from his father,†Ammons said.
Police taped a greenish yellow sign on the garage door warning neighbors about the existence of a clandestine laboratory for the manufacture of illegal drugs and or hazardous chemicals. Neighbors were thankful that authorities removed the materials without incident.
“It’s something to be taken seriously, they blocked off several streets here to keep folks away. I’m glad they were able to dismantle and fix the situation,†said Jeff Mandock.
