North Charleston Train derailment leaves multiple rail cars off it’s track, emergency crews on scene investigating


NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Crews are working on a train derailment that happened early Tuesday morning in North Charleston.

Several of the train cars were knocked off the track near Rivers Avenue and Durant Avenue.

Officers with the North Charleston Police Department assisted in directing traffic in the area, according to Deputy Chief Scott Deckard.

We are told it is a CSX train with Norfolk Southern cars. We have reached out to CSX for more information.
