HMN-Bakersfield Now reports that an overturned tanker posed a spill threat for hazmat responders. Photos show product leaked from the tanker and towards drains in the area.
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Police on Wednesday shut the area of Panama Lane and South Union Avenue off to traffic after a tanker truck overturned and started leaking a light crude oil.
A hazmat crew also responded.
A witness said the truck crashed while trying to make a left turn.
There was a shelter-in-place order, and crews siphoned the leaking substance and tried to keep it out of storm drains.
