Parts of Simpson Ferry Road and Wesley Drive in the area of the fuel terminal have been closed, according to emergency radio dispatches. Hazmat has been called to the scene, according to emergency radio dispatches.

The road closures are causing major traffic tie-ups in the area.

No neighborhoods are being evacuated at this time, said Det. Thomas Burfeind of Hampden Township police.

No injuries are reported, said Rachel Bryson, Cumberland County spokeswoman.

“They’re working on getting it under control,” Burfeind said of the fire.

There are road and railroad closures in the area, Burfeind said.

The terminal sits on approximately 16 acres and has seven above ground storage tanks, and was previously purchased by ArcLight Energy Partners Fund VI L.P from Gulf Oil , and later acquired by Zenith.

The terminal supports distribution of gasoline, distillates, ethanol and heating oil into the broader Harrisburg market. The capacity is 378,000 barrels.
