HMN – Phoenix and Goodyear Arizona firefighters conduct hands on hazmat training this week using the HazSim training system. Students received real time Hydrogen Sulfide readings on their monitors while performing a search of a suspected chemical suicide vehicle. ‘Dangerous jobs require hands-on interactive training’ says Phil Ambrose of HazSim. ‘The realistic readings on the meter, without the use of any chemicals, give the students an enhanced learning experience with emphasis on remembering the basics’. The Phoenix region has several hazmat and special operations teams who train regularly to keep valley citizens safe.
