Portland responds to diesel spill; roads closed

HMN-Crews responded to a diesel spill on NE Alderwood Road in Portland.  The spill is from a vehicle incident that left the diesel and also gasoline on the roadway. (KATU)

PORTLAND, Ore. – Northeast Alderwood Road is closed between Cornfoot Road and Columbia Boulevard for 6 to 8 hours Monday while HazMat crews clean spilled diesel fuel from a crash.

The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Northeast Columbia Boulevard and Alderwood Road.

A pickup truck crashed and ruptured a diesel fuel tank. Gasoline spilled onto the roadway.

Police say no one was injured.

Fire officials say there may also be intermittent closures on Columbia Boulevard while emergency crews enter and exit Alderwood Road.
