Suspicious package leaves FedEx worker ill at Hopkins Airport

CLEVELAND – An investigation is underway after a hazmat situation at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport Tuesday morning..
Members of the Cleveland Divisions of Police and Fire along with other law enforcement agencies responded to 5071 Postal Drive around 7 a.m.
Sources tell the Fox 8 I-Team a FedEx driver got dizzy when he picked up a box and also felt numbness in his arm.
The box was shipped to Ohio from Indiana, according to Fox 8 sources.
The FedEx driver was transported to the hospital and has since been released after being evaluated.
Here’s what they told Fox 8 about the situation:
“Nothing is more important than the safety of our team members. We are cooperating with authorities investigating a suspicious package at our Cleveland ramp earlier this morning. One employee was taken to the hospital for evaluation and has now been released. We appreciate the prompt assistance by authorities and first responders.”
The contents of the package have not been determined at this time.
Postal workers have been allowed back in the building.
No roads in the area are closed.
There was no impact to flights.
