Part of southbound I-275 is closed this morning after a semi-tractor trailer carrying 10,000 batteries caught fire Tuesday night, causing a hazmat situation.
The closure is on the right shoulder of I-275 and 7 Mile, according to state police. The fire was cleared about an hour after officials arrived on the scene.
The Livonia Fire Department deemed the fire a hazmat situation Tuesday night and is still clearing each of the batteries individually from the semi-tractor trailer.
There were no injuries.
