Not just for the Big City…Hazmat team removes drug-making materials from VT home

According to WPTZ:

WESTFIELD, Vt. —A hazmat team responded to a Westfield home Thursday after drug-making materials were found.

Vermont State Police said the materials were found while investigators conducted a search at a home in the 500 block of Cemetery Road.

The search warrant uncovered materials used to make heroin and fentanyl, as well as other unknown chemicals that may be harmful to officers.

A hazmat team was called to remove the chemicals.

The Troy Fire Department was called and briefly closed Cemetery Road for a time Thursday morning and into the afternoon.

Investigators said there was no immediate public health risk.

Police have not said if any arrests had been made.
