TITUSVILLE, Fla. – Titusville police say they seized 160 grams of deadly fentanyl from a home after receiving tips about drug activity.

Records show the Titusville Police Department Special Investigations unit executed a search warrant at a house on Valley Lane on Wednesday and found $18,000 worth of fentanyl, an opioid responsible for countless overdose deaths.

A gun and cocaine were also found in the home and Virgil Gibson, 29, was taken into custody, according to authorities.

Gibson is facing charges of trafficking in fentanyl, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of cocaine.

“We remain committed to targeting and stopping anyone who is engaged in the selling of deadly narcotics in the City of Titusville,” Special Investigations Sgt. Troy Barbour said in a news release. “This amount of fentanyl off the street almost certainly saved a life.”
