Description
This is a new, possibly improvised POM-2 scatterable anti-personnel landmine launched on the rocket motor of a RPG-7 observed a number of times in Ukraine.
As no formal identification is available at this time CAT-UXO is designating this munition the POM-2R, R indicating rocket launched as opposed to the POM-2S scatterable landmine.

It is the first photo in good condition and shows the full PG-POM. As we see, it is improvised/homemade kit and not standard.
Maybe in the future, it will appear standard cluster mining grenade for RPG-7, but I am not sure in it.
As we started our dialogue about this combination before, I will tell below my opinion about combination exactly on those photos.
What did they do?
Took out the part from landmine with stabilisation ribbons. Stock with spring is taken out very easy; different images show it different – you should take out collar – very short part of steel, which fixes this part to the outside cap (container) of the body.
Some images show the collar, some – do not; if collar exists a little bit difficult, but also possible to take out this part.
Connected the landmine with the adapter by cold soldering.
I am sure it is not soldering because the outside container of landmine made of thin metal and standard soldering will destroy it.
Activated in some way with an igniter on the landmine bottom. Why landmine is not active? First of all, I think they connected landmine with adapter very good and power of bouncing charge wasn’t enough for pushing out the landmine from its container.
To make this combination is possible you must disassemble container and put in a pin, which stops moving stock for taking out the cover cap. Igniter of POM-2 is activated by safety fuze.
It is a very sensitive and fire from safety fuze has to be enough.
A few centimetres of it gives enough delay for flying grenade of few hundred meters.
Landmine connects to the improvised adapter.
If the container is connected with adapter too strong, the landmine will not push out. Another way of activation with another construction of adapter maybe with the channel in the middle.
In the channel is a powder, that will burn when self-destruction mechanism of grenade burns it.
In this situation, the rocket grenade with landmine will fly far.
Advantage of this way is the landmine will put out from the container in any situation.
