Butane honey oil lab explosion destroys home, injures woman: MCSO

AROMAS, Calif. — A home was destroyed and a woman was injured in a suspected butane honey oil lab explosion.

On Monday, deputies with the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on the 300 block of Blohm Avenue in the unincorporated area of Aromas, around 3 p.m., for reports of an explosion.

Investigators believe a butane honey oil lab at the residence exploded, injuring a woman.

Jason Mendez, 22, of Watsonville, was arrested in connection to the explosion.
