HAZMATTERS: Rural Metro Knoxville
On this installment of HAZMATTERS we are recognizing the responders serving Knoxville, Tennessee on Rural Metro Fire Department. This HAZMAT team is a round the clock staffed team with 36 members who are ready to go at a moments notice. Their combo roster serves multiple jurisdictions in the region around Knoxville.
While serving a population of around 250,000 the team has many different “first in” hazards that they must be ready for. From radiation sources to many different chemical companies, company level training every shift makes these hazards easy to combat. Once per month, the entire team is present for large scale training.
