The Yvorra Leadership Development Foundation appointed Dr. Robert C. Andrews, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas to its board of directors. Dr. Andrews will be leading the foundation’s efforts to raise funds for and promote the Chief Alan Brunacini Special Projects on Leadership Development program that was introduced in 2024.
Chief Brunacini was a founding member of the YLD Scholarship and Awards Committee and served in that capacity for 29 years.

In making the announcement, YLD president Michael S. Hildebrand said, “Bob Andrews is well positioned to take on this project for YLD. He is a former fire chief, an accomplished senior level executive, a highly successful entrepreneur, and is an experienced philanthropic fundraiser. We are excited about Bob joining our team and helping us raise funds to help further the goals of YLD.”
Since 1989, YLD has awarded $322,000 to 111 scholarships and special projects award recipients.
