HAZMATTERS: Cuerpo de Bomberos DM Quito

We would like to recognize the Cuerpo de Bomberos DM Quito as today’s HAZMATTERS.

While cross staffed to other apparatus, these HAZMATTERS are ready 24 hours a day to protect the city of Quito, Pichincha in Ecuador.

With a full staff of 30, 6 responders per shift protect a population of approximately 2 million!  Some of the most common responses they make are in reference to chlorine, acids, and hydrocarbon/petroleum products.

The full time department uses a 2017 Spartan Dragon as their main line HAZMAT unit, and is always ready to roll!

A special shout out to these bomberos!

HazSim Pro training system has been used to train across the U.S since 2011. Trainers in HazMat and Confined Space realized that ‘tapping the student on the shoulder’ was NOT effective training. This system uses NO hazardous materials and although may not look exactly like your front line meter, shows the important data which the all students needs to learn to ‘react’ to.
