Phoenix Fire Department hazardous materials crews are attempting to isolate a suspicious substance on a letter received by a woman in Phoenix Tuesday .
The woman called 911 after opening a letter with an unknown fine powdery substance, according to Phoenix Fire Department Public Information Officer Kenny Overton. She said it gave her nose a “burning sensation.”
The Phoenix Fire Department hazardous materials crews responded to the call near Bell Road and 32nd Street.
She was taken to the hospital for a precautionary evaluation, Overton said.
Hazardous materials crews were still working to isolate the substance Tuesday afternoon.
