Paintsville doctor pleads guilty to improperly prescribing Fentanyl

PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) -A doctor from Paintsville pleaded guilty to federal charges in the U.S. District Court for Eastern Kentucky in Pikeville.

42-year-old Dr. Jason Castle of Staffordsville ran the Eastern Kentucky Family Medicine and New Age Vitality Clinic in Paintsville.

On Friday, he pleaded guilty to improperly prescribing Fentanyl to patients on eight separate occasions between August 13 and October 15 2020.

Castle returns for sentencing April 30.

He could face up to 20 years and more than $1 million in fines.
