LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A pedestrian was killed after walking on the US 95 on Saturday evening, the Nevada Highway Patrol reported on Thursday.
NCSO reports that 42-year-old Ricky McAdams of Muskegon, MI was walking in the northbound travel lane. It’s unclear why McAdams was walking in the road.
A semi-trailer, which was carrying hazardous materials, struck and killed McAdams at around 5:50 p.m.
There were no injuries to the driver, and the Nevada Highway Patrol Commercial Enforcement Unit reports that none of the hazardous materials were released as a result of the crash.
Investigators do not suspect impairment on the part of the driver. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
This marks the Nevada Highway Patrol Southern Command’s 63rd fatal crash resulting in 73 fatalities for 2020.
